GIRAFFLE

The promoter of Giraffle competitions is Giraffle Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 16906508, whose registered office is at Richmond House, Hill Street, Ashton-under-Lyne, OL7 0PZ.

How our competitions work
Each competition is one of three types. The type of each competition is shown on its Rules page.
All prizes are awarded in accordance with the laws of chance, using the random selection and allocation methods described below.
Prize draw. Every valid entry takes part in the draw. After the competition closes, the winning entry is selected at random from all valid entries. The list of valid entries is fixed and recorded before the winner is selected, and the selection uses a cryptographically secure random number generator.
Instant win. The winning and non-winning outcomes for this competition are determined before any entries are accepted. As each entry is made, it is allocated at random to one of the remaining pre-set outcomes and the result is known straight away. Any animation shown with your result does not affect it.
Instant reveal. The winning and non-winning outcomes for this competition are determined before any entries are accepted. When you enter, you are allocated at random to one of the remaining pre-set outcomes. Your result remains hidden until you complete the reveal experience. The reveal, and any choice you make during it, does not change the outcome already allocated to your entry.
Ongoing games. Some instant win and instant reveal competitions are ongoing games that continue across successive rounds. When the current round ends a new round can begin, so there is not a single final closing date for the game as a whole.
Free postal entry. Where free postal entry is available, a postal entry is treated in the same way as a paid entry: it takes part in the same draw or is allocated to the same set of pre-set outcomes, and it counts towards the same per-person entry limit. Every valid entry, whether paid or free, has an equal chance of winning each available prize.
Prize guarantees
Prizes will be awarded in accordance with the published competition rules. We will not reduce the value of an advertised prize, postpone a competition's closing date or cancel a competition because ticket sales are lower than expected.
Where a cash alternative is expressly advertised for a prize, the winner may choose either the advertised prize or the stated cash alternative. The cash alternative is fixed at the amount advertised for that competition and will be credited to the winner's Giraffle Wallet. The winner may request withdrawal of those funds to their nominated bank account, subject to reasonable identity and payment verification.
Where no cash alternative is advertised, the winner is entitled to the advertised prize, subject to the other applicable provisions of these Rules.
Random Selection, Fairness and Independent Audit
Giraffle uses cryptographically secure random number generation for its computerized winner selection and prize allocation processes. These processes are designed to produce verifiably random and auditable results.
We retain electronic records of prize pool generation, random allocation and competition outcomes, together with cryptographic evidence that enables the integrity of recorded results to be checked.
To support independent scrutiny, Giraffle maintains a secure, access-controlled audit facility through which authorized external auditors can examine relevant competition records, review fairness evidence and access supporting verification information.
Access to this facility is restricted to authorized individuals and is logged for accountability.
These arrangements are designed to enable independent verification of our competition processes and results. They do not constitute a claim that every competition has been independently audited or that our random number generator has been externally certified.
Competition-specific rules also apply
Each competition has its own rules page setting out the prize, entry price, maximum entries, closing arrangements and how that particular competition works. Those competition-specific details apply in addition to these Official Rules, and the specific figures always come from the competition itself.
Free postal entry
Where a competition's rules state that free entry is enabled, a free postal entry route is available as an alternative to paid entry. Full instructions for submitting a free postal entry, including the competition reference, customer reference and postal submission requirements, are available from that competition's own Rules page. General information about the free postal entry route is available on our Postal Entry page.
Refunds and cancellations
Cancellation and refunds. All competition entries are final and non-refundable once successfully purchased and accepted.
Customers cannot cancel an accepted entry or obtain a refund because they have changed their mind.
Where Giraffle cancels a competition or a payment has been taken incorrectly, refunds will be handled in accordance with the refund provisions of these Official Rules.
Giraffle may cancel a competition where this is reasonably necessary because of circumstances beyond its control, legal or regulatory requirements, or a technical failure affecting the fairness of the competition. Low ticket sales are never a reason for cancellation (see Prize guarantees above).
Where a competition is cancelled before a valid winner or winning outcome has been determined, we will refund the amounts you actually paid for your entries, including any Wallet Credit used, and reinstate any Site Credit you used.
If you believe you have been charged incorrectly, charged twice, or that entries you paid for are missing, please contact us. We will investigate and, where appropriate, correct your entries or refund you.
Refunds are ordinarily returned to the original payment method.
Refund enquiries. If you believe you have been incorrectly charged or are entitled to a refund under these Official Rules, please contact support@giraffleuk.com.
Please provide your account email address, the relevant competition or transaction reference where available, and a brief explanation of your enquiry. Do not send complete payment-card details by email.
Giraffle will investigate the request and confirm the outcome. Where a refund is due, it will ordinarily be returned to the original payment method, subject to applicable payment-provider processing arrangements.
Nothing in these rules affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Winner notification and unclaimed prizes
Winners have 28 calendar days from the date they are notified to claim their prize and complete any reasonable verification we require, subject to any reasonable extension.
We will make reasonable attempts to contact winners using the contact details held on their account and will send reminders during the claim period.
Where a winner has not made a valid claim within the applicable period, including any extension, Giraffle may review whether the winner's entitlement should be withdrawn. Any such decision will take account of the notification attempts made, the circumstances of the claim, any outstanding verification and applicable law.
A prize will not be withdrawn automatically merely because the claim period has expired.
Where an entitlement is validly withdrawn, Giraffle will determine the appropriate treatment of the unclaimed prize in accordance with applicable promotional rules and consumer law.
Winner verification
All participants must be at least 18 years old. Age verification is normally completed as part of customer registration, and a successful age verification will not ordinarily be repeated unless this is reasonably necessary.
Before awarding a prize, Giraffle may verify the identity and eligibility of the winner and that the winner owns the winning entry. Additional checks may apply, proportionately, for higher-value prizes, where fraud is suspected or where we are legally required to carry them out.
Any verification we ask for will be reasonable and proportionate, and must be completed within the 28-day claim period described above, subject to any reasonable extension.
We will protect personal information and verification documents provided to us and use them only for verification, eligibility and legal purposes.
Physical prize delivery
Giraffle arranges delivery of physical prizes to UK addresses, unless the advertised prize arrangements specify collection.
Standard UK delivery is included at no additional cost to the winner.
Where a prize is advertised for collection, Giraffle will contact the winner to arrange a suitable collection time and location.
Following confirmation of a valid prize claim and completion of any necessary verification, Giraffle will arrange fulfilment as promptly as reasonably practicable.
Prizes will normally be awarded within 30 days in accordance with applicable promotional rules. Where a longer period applies to a particular prize, the relevant delivery arrangements will be clearly disclosed before entry.
Cash prize payments
Cash prizes are credited to the winner's Giraffle Wallet.
The winner may request withdrawal of available funds to their nominated bank account, subject to any necessary identity, fraud-prevention or payment verification checks.
Where a competition offers an advertised cash alternative, the winner retains the choice provided under the existing Official Rules. Any cash alternative selected by the winner is credited to their Giraffle Wallet.
Wallet withdrawals
Giraffle aims to process withdrawal requests within 3 working days, subject to any necessary identity, fraud-prevention or payment verification checks.
Once a withdrawal has been processed, the time taken for funds to reach the customer's nominated bank account may depend on the payment provider and receiving bank.
This is a processing target, not a guarantee that the funds will reach the bank account within 3 working days.
Site Credit
Site Credit awarded as a competition prize or promotional credit may be used towards eligible competition entries on Giraffle.
Site Credit does not expire and remains valid indefinitely, subject to the customer's account remaining eligible to use it.
Site Credit has no cash redemption value and cannot be withdrawn, transferred to a bank account or exchanged for cash.
Site Credit is separate from Wallet Credit. Cash prizes and advertised cash alternatives are credited to the customer's withdrawable Wallet balance in accordance with the existing Official Rules.
Prize availability and alternatives
If an advertised physical prize becomes unavailable, Giraffle will contact the winner to arrange an appropriate alternative in accordance with applicable promotional rules.
Any replacement prize must be a reasonable equivalent to the advertised prize.
Where appropriate, Giraffle may offer a cash alternative, subject to the winner's agreement and applicable requirements.
Giraffle will not reduce the value of an advertised prize because of ticket sales or substitute a lower-value prize merely because the original prize has become unavailable.
Winner publicity
Giraffle may publish a winner's first name, the initial of their surname, their general geographical location (such as town or county) and the prize won.
Winners may ask us to withhold their details where they have reasonable privacy concerns, and we will consider any such request fairly.
Photographs, videos, use of a likeness, testimonials and promotional appearances require separate, voluntary consent. Giving promotional consent is never a condition of receiving a prize.
All winner publicity is handled in line with applicable data protection law.
Disqualification and misuse
Giraffle may investigate, on the basis of evidence, suspected fraud, false information, the use of bots or automated entry, payment fraud, manipulation, technical exploitation or material breaches of these rules.
Where reasonably necessary during an investigation, we may temporarily suspend an account or the relevant entries.
Any decision to disqualify an entrant or entry will be reasonable, proportionate and supported by recorded evidence. Where practicable, we will explain our decision and give you the opportunity to challenge it.
We will not disqualify entrants arbitrarily or withdraw legitimately won prizes without justification. Any refund rights following disqualification remain subject to applicable law.
Limitation of liability
Giraffle will take reasonable care to operate its competitions fairly and securely.
Giraffle is not responsible for interruptions or failures caused by events beyond its reasonable control, provided it has taken reasonable steps to prevent and mitigate them.
Where a technical failure materially affects entries or the fairness of a competition, we will take appropriate corrective action.
To the extent permitted by law, Giraffle is not liable for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable.
Nothing in these rules excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law. Nothing in these rules affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Privacy and data handling
Giraffle processes personal information in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
We use personal information to register and manage your account, verify your age and identity, process payments, administer competitions, prevent fraud, notify winners and fulfil prizes.
We share personal information only where necessary with authorised payment, verification and prize fulfilment providers, and with our professional advisers. Giraffle does not sell customer personal information.
We keep personal information only for as long as is proportionate for these purposes and to meet our legal, regulatory and accounting requirements.
You have rights under data protection law, including the right to access, correct and, in some circumstances, erase your personal information. To exercise these rights, please contact us.
Governing law and jurisdiction
These Official Rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
The courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, except that if you live elsewhere in the United Kingdom you may also bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live. Nothing in this section removes any mandatory consumer protection you are entitled to.
